I was going to do some big lead in and save my news for the end of this post. But, let’s face it, I’m a little too giddy for that. So, without further ado:

Okay. Now I’m going to take a deep breath and continue in a coherent fashion. After this:

Though I’ve had time to absorb this information, it still feels surreal to me. I’ve been dreaming of having a novel published since I was a little kid. One day (not too long from now!) I’ll walk into a bookstore and see my novel on a shelf. What is this crazy universe I’ve entered?!

The book was acquired by Sourcebooks Fire, which has an amazing list of Young Adult authors. I’m so proud to be among them.

Oh! And there’s an official title:

I fell in love with it instantly.

The idea for this novel came to me several years ago. And in that time, my main character, Hawthorn, has become real to me. Whenever I set the book aside for a bit to work on short stories, or other writing, I could feel Hawthorn’s distress. She wanted me to finish her story.

Well, Hawthorn, it’s happening. Your story is going to be out there in the world. (She's probably thinking, Well, it's about time!)
